WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. -- Sunday the Modified Outlaw Micro Stocks returned to Wall Stadium with heat race winner John Kazmierski leading the field to the green, edging out the previous race winner Tom Ervin as the field entered turn one. Quickly going on the attack Ervin moved inside of Kazmierski exiting turn 2, but Kazmierski powered back on the outside to reclaim the lead by the end of the straight. The two leaders continued to swap the lead for several laps before the first caution flag of the race flew for the disabled car of Andrew Shuster.

On the restart Kazmierski again assumed the lead while Ervin applied pressure, but this time veteran campaigner Harry Burd joined the fray moving inside Ervin the next lap. Burd and Ervin ran side by side behind Kazmierski for 2 laps before Ervin finally got a good run inside Kazmierski to take the spot. Unfortunately, Burd and Ervin made contact with Burd spinning to bring out a caution. Reverting to the last scored green flag lap Kazmierski again led the field to the green, but this time Ervin powered around the outside of turns 1 & 2 to take the lead. While Kazmierski struggled to give chase Burd rebounded from his spin and moved through the field to eventually catch and pass Kazmierski for second. As the race drew to a close Kazmierski went for a solo spin but collected the car without bringing out the caution and held on for a third place finish, but at the finish line it was all Ervin while Burd finished a distant second. Shuster and Jason Burd rounded out the top five.

Tom Ervin drives the John Kazmierski owned #99 K&K Express Modified Micro Stock with sponsorship from K&K Industries of Ewing, Al’s Sunoco of Pennington, and Trenton Hot Rod Shop of Trenton.

The Modified Outlaw Micro Stocks will return to Wall Stadium on June 3rd. There is no club fee to race with M.O.M., and all Modified Micro Stock drivers are welcome to compete.
