WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. -- With the 2012 Wall Stadium Speedway Garden State Classic stock car racing program now in the record books, competitors in six racing divisions are ready to battle this Saturday night, July 7. For the first time ever, the new 4 Cylinder Division will join the track’s five regular divisions in competition. Plans call for qualifying to start at 6:00 p.m. with main event action set for 7:00 p.m.

Saturday’s action will also take on a patriotic theme as “Red, White and Blue Night” will offer fans a discounted grandstand admission when they where our nation’s colors to the track.

“Garden State Classic” champion Chas Okerson of Freehold will be one of the drivers to watch in Modified action, but defending champion Anthony Sesely of Matawan is currently at the top of his game as he attempts to claim a second straight crown. Shaun Carrig of Little Falls, Shanon Mongeau of Farmingdale, Adam LaCicero of Lavallette and Howell’s Ken Woolley, Jr. are just a few of the area’s standout Modified drivers expected to go for the win and the season-long driving title.

In the Sportsman division, Toms River’s Charlie Kremer III will be trying to add to his point race leading total, while Howell’s Eric Mauriello, Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Brick’s Robert Sutphin and Kevin Davison of Howell will be among those offering plenty of competition.

In support division action, point leader Scott Riggleman of Manchester in the Factory Stock division, Jackson’s Howie Conk in the Street Stock ranks and Legend Cars defending champ Derek Hopkinson of Toms River will be among the favorites.

Making their first ever appearance will be the cars and drivers of the track’s all new 4 Cylinder Division. Rules for this class are designed to keep the racing both exciting and affordable. Qualifying methods and the main event distance will be determined by the turnout of cars on Saturday.

Current plans say that pit gates will open at 2:00 p.m. and the regular practice will be up at 3:30 p.m. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and the first qualifying event will take the green flag at 6:00 p.m. Feature racing will follow.

Wall Stadium Speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
