DONIPHAN, Nebr. -- Josh Leonard grabbed the lead on lap two of the first of three heat races in the Grand National Late Model division and continued for the win. Tom Kubicka finished in second with Jake Neighbors third and fourth went to Mike Hetrick. Tim Hans utilized his outside front row starting position to take the lead in heat number two. Tim continued to lead for the win as Dave Cook finished in second. Les Siebert took third and fourth was Justin Gregg. Denton Duncan led two laps of the final heat race before Jarred Hackler took control and the win. Robbie Leonard moved up for second with Brandon Leonard third and fourth went to Denton Duncan.

IMCA Modified driver Jared Hoefelman dashed into the lead as the first heat in the modified division. Hoefelman continued for the win. Tyler Andreasen finished in second as Jimmy Pearce moved up for third and fourth went to Bob Lawson. Matthew Kiner led the second heat from start to finish. Brian Levander, Andy Gregg and Wade Cross rounded out the field.

Russ Specht drove his IMCA Hobbby Stock to victory lane in the first of two heat races. Russ led the entire race as Troy Paxton had to settle for second. Kyle Bond was third and fourth went to Jake Pemberton. Zack Gimpel led the first half of the final Hobby Stock heat race. Tiffany Bittner took the lead at that point and continued with the win. Tyler Andreasen moved in to finish second with Jim Buss third and Zack Gimpel dropped to fourth.

Tyler Barribo finally had some good luck as he controlled the Awards Plus Happy Hornet heat race from start to finish for the win. Jordan Lawhorne finished in second with Darrell Fieldgrove and Joey Platt founding out the top four.

“Driver of the Week” honors went to Jim Buss during intermission. Buss was the feature winner last week and third in points standing at Mid-Nebr Speedway as the night began. Congratulations to Jim Buss.

Eight drivers battled for the final six transfer positions during the Grand National Late Model B-feature. Gale Vogt took the lead as the race began. Vogt continued for the win as Casey Landers controlled second. Rich Enevoldson, Tommy DeFreece, Lester Duncan and E.J. Flynn made the final transfer.

Joey Platt grabbed the lead as the green flag flew for the Awards Plus Happy Hornet A-feature. Jordan Lawhorne took the lead at the half-way point in the race. Lawhorne continued for the win as Platt held on for second. Third place went to Erik Nelson and Tyler Barribo was fourth.

Russ Specht seemed to be on a mission after leading his heat race all the way as he took the early lead in the IMCA Hobby Stock A-feature. Specht had a repeat performance as he led the entire distance and got the win. Jerry Barribo Jr. finished in second as Jim Buss and Kyle Bonde rounded out the top four.

IMCA Modified driver Bob Lawson led the first three laps of their A-feature. Lap four found Wade Cross in control of the race. Cross continued for his fifth win in a row at Mid-Nebr Speedway. Tyler Iverson finished in second with Brian Levander in third and Bob Lawson was fourth.

Tim Hans was the early leader as the Grand National Late Model A-feature began. Tim continued to lead until lap number six as Les Siebert took the front position. Lap number ten saw another lead change as Josh Leonard took control of the race. Josh continued for the win making it two in a row for the second time this season. Les Siebert continued for second as Jarred Hackler was third and fourth went to Tom Kubicka.

Fans and racers all enjoyed the annual Fireworks Display which is in Honor of our Country and all the sacrifices made through the years which have given us our freedom.
