DONIPHAN, Nebr. -- The racing at Mid-Nebr Speedway got off to a good start with a little break in the hot temperatures. Rich Enevoldson led the first two laps of heat number one in the Grand National Late Model division before Kevin Safranek took the lead and the win. Robby Leonard moved up for second with Brandon Leonard third and fourth went to Enevolds3n. Les Siebert controlled heat number two as he lead from start to finish. Robert Leonard moved up for second followed by Jarred Hackler and Denton Duncan. Jake Neighbors controlled the third heat with the win. Tom Kubicka finished in second as Josh Leonard and Mike Hetrick rounded out the field.

Wade Cross jumped into the lead of the IMCA Modified heat race number one and led the entire race. Jimmy Pearce finished in second with Charles Stryker third and Justin Brandt fourth. Heat Number two saw Bob Lawson lead the first lap but then Tyler Iverson took control and the win. Bob Lawson was second with Jarred Hoefelman third and fourth went to Brian Hoefelman.

IMCA Hobby Stock driver Caleb Hetrick took the lead as the first heat race began. Jim Buss took the lead on lap four and continued for the win with Hetrick in second. Dillon Thompson finished in third as Jamie Porterfield was fourth. Heat number two was controlled by Jeff Gimpel. Kyle Bond finished second as Tyler
Andreasen was third and Jake Pemberton fourth.

Awards Plus Happy Hornet driver Darrell Fieldgrove won heat number one in their division. Erik Nelson finished second as Casey Bagwell and Denise Williams rounded out the top four. Tyler Barribo won the second heat after taking the lead from Jesse Lewis at the half-way point. Joey Platt moved up for second with Lewis in third and Joe Welsh was fourth.

The “Driver of the Week” honors went to Awards Plus Happy Hornets driver Tyler Barribo. Tyler started the season as a Junior Hornet and now is in the Happy Hornets division. Tyler has had many struggles with car problems. Tyler has remained positive and managed to win their A-feature last week. Congratulations Tyler Barribo.

The Happy Hornets A-feature found the “Driver of the Week” Tyler Barribo taking the lead as the race began. Barribo continued to lead until Darrell Fieldgrove took over at the halfway point of the race. Fieldgrove took the win as Jordan Lawhorne was second. Tyler Barribo held on for third and Erik Nelson was fourth.

IMCA Hobby Stock driver Jeff Gimpel used his outside front row starting position to good advantage as he grabbed the lead as their feature race began. Jeff continued to lead for three laps before problems sent him to the pits for the night. Jim Buss took the lead on lap five and continued for the win. Tyler Andreasen managed to finished in second with Kyle Bond third and fourth went to Jake Pemberton. Zack Gimpel crossed the finish line in fourth but tech inspection resulted in a disqualification for the night.

Wade Cross wheeled his IMCA Modified to the lead on lap one of their feature race. Cross continued his lead until the final four laps as Tyler Iverson managed to take the lead and continue for the win. Jared Hoefelman moved up for second place followed by Wade Cross and Charles Stryker was fourth.

Rich Enevoldson led lap number one in the Grand National Late Model feature race. Tom Kubicka took the lead on lap number two and continued to lead until lap number nine. Kevin Safranek took the lead at that point in the race. Safranek continued to lead until the final five laps as Kubicka regained the lead and got the win. Safranek finished in second with Josh Leonard finished third and fourth went to Jake Neighbors.
