Car Pool Night at Butler County Motorplex

RISING CITY, Neb. -- Fans enjoyed “car pool” night at Butler County Motorplex after a week of rainy weather. The first heat of the night found Jason Penke taking the early lead in the IMCA Sport Mod division. Nathan Kobus took the lead on lap two and continued his lead until the white flag lap as Jim Hendricks took the lead and the win. Kobus was second followed by Denny Berghahn Jr. and Jason Penke. Brandon Jessen led the second heat race from start to finish. Hank DeWild finished second with Kevin Kloke third and Ron Allen was fourth.

James Kleinheksel took the lead in the first of three IMCA Modified heat races and continued his lead until mechanical problems sent him to the pits. Scott Bivens took the lead with two laps remaining and continued for the win. J.J. Fritz was second, Tom Svoboda third and Brian Levander fourth. Heat two saw Greg Johns taking the early lead. Shane Stutzman took the lead on lap five and continued for the win. Jason Gaver moved into second with Greg Johns third and Bob Phillips was fourth. Jim Krupicka led the first four laps of heat number three but then Scott Styskal took control and the win. Chris Alcorn finished second, Terry Richards third and Krupicka dropped to fourth.

Nic Hitz grabbed the lead in the first IMCA Sport Compact heat race. Garret Rech took the lead from Hitz at the half-way point in the race and went on for the win. Garet Hurlbert moved into second with Tyler Leicy third and Nic Hitz was fourth. Levi Stoakes took the lead as the second heat began but Jeremy Noonan took the front position on lap three and went on to victory. Mike Simpson moved up to take second with Stoakes third and Erik Nelson was fourth.

Kyle Hein took the lead from Dion Kovar on lap two of the first IMCA Hobby Stock heat race. Hein continued for the win as Lee Kracht moved up for second followed by Mike Goldfuss and Jim Buss. Dale Bittner controlled the second heat race with the win. Dusty Poessnecker moved up for second followed by Branden Wergin and Jay Poessnecker.

Shane Hiatt led the first three laps in the IMCA Modified B feature before James Kleinheksel took control and the win. Hiatt held on for second followed by Adrian Hein Jr. and Chad Anderson.

Garrett Rech led the first six laps in the IMCA Sport Compact feature but Jeremy Noonan took the lead on lap seven and then continued for the win. Rech finished second with Garet Hurlbert third and Ricky Harris was fourth.

Kyle Hein led lap number one in the Hobby Stock feature but Mike Goldfuss took the lead on lap number two. Lap three found Dusty Poessnecker taking the lead and continuing for another win. Lee Kracht finished second with Jay Poessnecker third and Mike Goldfuss dropped to fourth.

IMCA Sport Mod driver Kevin Kloke grabbed the lead in their A-feature. Hank DeWild took the lead on lap three and continued through the caution plagued race for the win. Denny Berghahn Jr finished second with Nathan Kobus third and Kevin Kloke held on for fourth.

The IMCA Modified drivers A-feature was caution free as J.J. Fritz took the lead as the race began. Greg Johns took the lead in lap three and also had fast time for the race. Shane Stutzman took the lead on lap eleven and continued for the win. Chris Alcorn moved up to second on lap thirteen. Greg Johns held on for third with Jim Krupicka fourth.

There will be no racing at the Motorplex next week which is July 3rd. The races will resume on July 10th.
