Final Point Race/Cancer Awareness at 81 Speedway this Saturday

PARK CITY, Kan. -- Want something to do Saturday that includes the outdoors, racing and help a worthwhile cause? Then make your plans to spend this coming Saturday at 81 Speedway in Park City as the final point race for the 2012 race season will take place with the annual running of the “Breast Cancer Awareness/Shirley Hall Memorial” final regular season point show extravaganza.
Just $10 grandstand admission will allow you to take in events at the speedway that will take place both in the afternoon and evening. Below is the itinerary for this Saturday:
Throughout the day and evening the “Guardians of the Ribbon” will have the Breast Cancer Awareness Fire truck will be at the speedway. There will also be a daylong 50/50 ticket game which will benefit the Wichita Chapter of Pink Heals.
Gates will open at noon
2:00 pm: Qualifying heat races will be run for the tracks regular divisions of modified, AAA modified, rookie modified, street stock, thumper, hornet, youth hornet and hobby stock divisions.
7:00 pm: Championship features for the above mentioned divisions plus a complete show of heat races and championship feature for the winged 360 sprint car division.
Current point leaders in each division are as follows: Jeremy Campbell (360 sprint cars), Marc Hurd (modifieds), Richard Wilson (AAA modifieds), Brandon Miller (rookie modifieds), Darin Busch (street stocks), Jason Dickey (hobby stocks) and Rustin Wilson (thumpers).
While this will end the speedways 2012 point race season, racing is not completely done for the year as special events dot the speedway schedule until October 13th.
While activities are focused around Breast Cancer Awareness and the final point race weekend, officials, staff and those who know her will also take time out to remember Shirley Hall, mother of Speedway president C Ray Hall.
