Saturday, April 21, 2012 Different Car Makes no Difference; Chumley Scores Third Burning Rubber Radio Mini-Stock Feature Win
by John PottsCORBIN, Ky. -- Jeff Chumley of Keavy brought a different car to Corbin Speedway on Saturday, April 21, but it didn’t keep him from posting his third main event win of the 2012 season in the Burning Rubber Radio Mini-Stock Series.
After running side-by-side with the Wagers Auto Parts Escort driven by Clifford Wagers of Barbourville for the first lap and a half, Chumley pulled his Reelz Video & Tanning Neon in front going into the first turn, then pulled away.
He led the rest of the 25-lap feature, going under the checkered flag with a lead of about two seconds over Wagers.
Steve Decker of Williamsburg, who won the first trophy dash in his Decker Racing Escort, was third, followed in order by Corey Blankenship of Corbin and the BattlePack.com Motorsports Sunfire, Harold Brown of Gray in his J&P Automotive Sunfire, and Joseph Knuckles of Keavy with the Everyone Rides Auto Sales Integra.
Dewayne Smith of Gray and his McKeehan Auto Body Neon were unable to start the feature due to mechanical problems.
Wagers was the winner of the second trophy dash.
