KALEVA, Mich. -- The racing action is sure to get hot this Friday and Saturday night at Northern Michigan Dragway. Drag racing messageboards and forums have been buzzing with fans all over Michigan getting excited about the 2nd Annual Bowtie Challenge.

The event will feature Chevrolet race entries taking on all competitors in head to head match-ups for a unique race within the race event. In the inaugural 2011 event, the competition beat out the Bowtie entries by a total weekend score of 62 to 52. Saginaw's Darren McChesney was the top weekend money earner with the $2,000 win in Bracket II, along with fellow Saginaw racer Scott Hoernlein, Phil Gunther from Beulah, and Scott Green of Manistee pocketing some great cash with Bracket I and II wins.

Prize money has been boosted in all classes for the second annual event for a total weekend payout of over $15,000. Races are set to start at 7 pm each night. Further information can be found at www.northernmichigandragway.net or by calling the NMD race line at (231)362-3439.
