LAWNDALE, N.C. (May 18, 2002) - For the second week in a row "Big" John Pursley showed the Rogers Automotive Group Late Models the fast way around Thunder Valley Speedway, as he sped around the 80 foot wide facilty to score the $1,500 victory.

Pursley shared the front row with Bellwood, NC's Ron Paker. As the green waved Clover SC's Pursley jumped to the point and never looked back. Paker came home second with Shelby, NC's Roger Hamrick third, Wayne Dellinger fourth and Statesville, NC driver Chad Paxton fifth.

In the always competitive Limited Sportsman main event it was Morganton NC's Bo Mace scoring the win. Jim Blackburn was second with Chuck Pearson third, Robert Bradley fourth and Marvin Pope fifth.

Trent Chatham rolled to his second straight Modified Four win. Second through fifth went to Mike Ledford, Tim Bristol, Mark Treadway and Billy Heavner.

Greg Davis continued his domination of the Stock Four field. Jeff Dobbs, Larry Toney, Bo Rutherford and Shane McKee rounded out the top five in the 15 car field.

Stock Eight checkers waved for Bryant Rayfield. Lawndale's Todd Spangler raced home second with Mike Bivens, Chris Stone and Billy Greenway following.

In the Rookie Four main event it was Tony Cash leading the way. Second through fifth went to Harold Green, Dennis Edwards, Brandon Robinson and Brandy Pringle.

Next week the action continues as "Saturday Night Live" features a full racing program along with bike races for the kids. No Modified Fours will race this week as the division is being reviewed for the future. Gates open at 5 with racing at 8. Grandstand admission is only $10. Come see what the "fuss" is all about.
