MARION, Texas -- Racing concluded for the weekend at San Antonio Raceway Sunday for a second day of Sportsman racing, as part of the Summit Pro-Am Touring Series. Drivers from all across the mid-south, southwest and even as far away as Virginia signed in for their chance to take home an Ironman Trophy and a guaranteed spot in the Tournament of Champions race to be held later in the year, at Memphis International Raceway.

On tap for Sunday was one round of qualifying followed by eliminations in all the Sportsman classes(Top Dragster, Top Sportsman, Super Stock, Stock, Quick Rod, Super Rod, Hot Rod and all three divisions of Jr. Dragsters(Master, Advanced and Beginner). ET Box and No-Box held one round of eliminations Saturday night, with completion of that show also on the slate. Top Sportsman, who had visibility issues arise Saturday night, also had a couple rounds to complete as part of today’s show.

As a bonus for all the fans and teams, Mitch King Motorsports had his Top Fuel Dragster, driven by Keith Murt, out to make some shakedown runs. For all of us ‘old school’ guys, Donnie Anderson also had his beautiful Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster, which was all built in-house, making some test passes. Mitch King also brought out his Prostalgia Brand X Funny Car for two test runs.
