Oshkosh Speedzone Says ‘Thanks’ to It’s Fans on August 17
by Jeffrey Sachse
OSHKOSH, Wis. -- The 2012 season has been a successful one at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway. Outstanding competition has led to a solid turnout of loyal fans each and every week. Officials at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway would like to thank it’s fans for their loyal support this season with “Fan Appreciation Night” on August 17th.
After the conclusion of racing activities fans are invited to the pit area for a free corn boil. Grab some “fresh from the field sweet corn” and talk with your favorite drivers about their on track heroics. Then to wash it all down there will be free soda available along with free beer for the adults.
Of course we haven’t forgotten our young race fans and future racers. At 6:15pm a Kid’s Ride Along will take place. Children are invited trackside to take a lap around Oshkosh Speedzone’s third-mile clay oval with their favorite driver. Youngsters will also have an opportunity to win many “Back to School” prizes given away throughout the evening.
A large number of FREE Domino’s Pizza coupons will also be given away throughout the night.
All five weekly divisions will be in action, with nearly 120 cars expected in the pit area. Featured classes include the Automotive Supply Company Modifieds, Leon’s Frozen Custard IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds, Miller Lite Grand Nationals, Total Power Sales Street Stocks and Lynn’s Service Center Dirt Devils. On track action has been heating up as the champions for 2012 will be decided in just a few weeks. Point chases in the Grand Nationals, Street Stocks and Dirt Devils are especially close and making it to victory lane is a key in the title chase over the final weeks.
Racing action is set to begin promptly at 7:00pm with adult tickets $10, students ages 11 through 15 are admitted for $5 and children 10 and under are FREE.
Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway is a 1/3 mile semi-banked clay oval located at the Sunnyview Expo Center which resides near the intersection of Highways 76 and County Trunk Y in Oshkosh.
