Kasperek Wins Thriller, Wilson Scores Clean Sweep at Seymour

SEYMOUR, Wis. -- Gary Kasperek drove from row 9 to win a thriller in the Street Stocks at Seymour Super Speedway. Other feature winners were Jason Czarapata (IMCA Modified), Brandon Czarapata (IMCA Stock Car), Tyler Wilson (IMCA Sport Mod) and Calvin Stueck (Four-Cylinders)
Joe Schwister took the lead early in the Street Stock main event until a caution with 7 to go slowed the field. Point leader Gary Kasperek who started in row 9 due to a mechanical failure on the first lap of his heat race. A series of cautions allowed Kasperek to work into the top 5. This put Schwister in a 4 car battle for the lead with last weeks winner John Ashcraft, Jerry Winkler and Kasperek. Ashcraft led with 5 to go, Winkler then took his turn up front sneaking by Ashcraft for the lead. With white flag waving Kasperek ducked underneath Winkler and the two slugged it out for the win. Winkler fired his racer into the corner allowing Kasperek to work the low groove powering past Winkler out of turn 2. Kasperek led only one lap, but it was the last one as he picked up his 5th feature win of the season and extended his point lead over Travis Springsttoh. Schwister used the last lap tousle to secure second, Ashcraft third, Winkler four and Aaron Melchert snuck by at the line for fifth.
Tyler Wilson scored his first career Seymour feature win in the IMCA Sport Mods
Wilson made quick work from inside row 2 and jumped out to an early lead. Tyler Hackett waged battle with Kurt Moeller for the second spot while a series of early cautions kept the field tight on Wilson’s rear spoiler. Midway through the contest Hackett secured the runner up position, then set his sights on Wilson. Hackett gave chase the rest of the race but it wasn’t enough as Wilson scored his second feature win of the weekend as he took home the win Friday night at Luxemburg Speedway. Josh Long snuck past Hackett for second at the checkers, point leader Jeremy Cota placed fourth and Mueller rounded out the top five.
Brandon Czarapata out dueled Shawn Wagner taking home top honors in the IMCA Stock Cars.
Brandon Gagnon jumped to the lead after starting on the outside pole and led till a series of cautions slowed the field.. Shawn Wagner worked through the field passing 3 and 4 wide bringing him to the inside of Gagnon for the lead. Wagner secured the top spot and began to distance himself from Chas Van Ooyen. A caution midway through the contest put point leader Brandon Czarapata on Wagner’s back bumper. Czarapata used this caution to his advantage and muscled his way down low passing Wagner for the lead with 9 laps remaining. Czarapata pulled away from the field in dominating performance, earning his 5th feature of the season padding his point lead over second place finisher Wagner, Van Ooyen scored a solid third with Brian Ambrosius fourth and Jeremy Wiitala fifth.
IMCA Modified point leader “Racin” Jason Czarapata passed Marcus Yarie on lap 2 and dominated the field scoring his 4th feature win of the season. Yarie posted a solid third, Jim Hanson third, rookie Eric Arneson fourth and John Berna fifth.
Calvin Stueck scored his 5th feature win of the season and now sits tied for the point lead with Jeff Behm.
