WILLARD, Kent. -- Kenny Riddle became the first repeat winner of the 2006 AMRA Road Warrior Tour season, as the Parkersburg, WV driver was the winner of Willard (Ky) Speedway's "Bluegrass Bash 30 ".

Local driver Joey Back drove off the outside pole position to take the early lead in the first ever Bluegrass State appearance for the Road Warrior Tour.

Defending RWT champion Louie Krushansky, Matt Lux, and '94 AMRA champion Doug Henry followed in the leaders tire tracks, as the recently resurfaced track's lower groove was treacherous in the early going, and the leaders chose to ride the cushioned upper groove.

This strategy played into the 9th starting Riddle's hand, as he dove to the bottom of the quarter mile's turns, beginning his march to the front.

Riddle had no sooner than worked his way to the runner-up position when leader Back bobbled coming off turn 2. Riddle, Krushansky, Lux, Henry and Kenny Johnson all freight trained by, before the former leader squeezed back into line.

A caution for contact between Dave Defibaugh and Jason Perry bunched the field for a final time with 9 laps remaining. Kenny Johnson was now charging on the bottom with Mark Dickson and Todd Robinson in tow. Back fell from the top 10, and soon went pitside, with Lux following suit shortly afterwards, as the pace and track conditions began to take a toll on the leaders. Johnson's charge ended after making it as far as 2nd, as he dropped out with a thrown driveshaft, with Krushansky suffering the same fate on the final lap.

Riddle's "Allman Sweep-A-Lot/ Poske's/ Fastenal/ Riddler Chassis" #1k crossed under the checkered flag with a 6 car length advantage over current RWT point leader Mark Dickson and Doug Henry. Todd Robinson and Doug Browning rounded out the top 5.

6th through 10th were Jason Perry, Teddy Tucker, David Bodkins, Krushansky and Johnson.

Krushansky was the "Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier" as well as the opening heat winner.

Back and Lux also scored heat race wins.
