Mossbarger and Webber Find Victory Lane at Brushcreek

PEEBLES, Ohio -- Brushcreek Motorsports Complex was back in action on Saturday August 22 with fan Appreciation night. As the sun faded into the unseasonably cool August night action heated up on the high banks of the 1/3 mile speed plant. Manchester, Ohio's Mark Morrison picked up another late model feature win. Dustin Webber took his first modified feature win. Peebles, Ohio's Dave Jamison picked up his second legend feature win. While Tommy Mossbarger found victory lane in the bomber class for his first win this season and Bill Taylor picked up another crazy compact feature win.

Chuck Simon and Mark Morrison brought the late model feature field to the green. Morrison jumped out to the early lead over Kevin Wagner, Chuck Simon and Dillon Huron. The action was slowed with a lap two caution when Dean Boyd looped his 11B machine in turn two. On the restart, Morrison jumped out to the lead with Kevin Wagner in tow. Over the next four circuits Morrison and Wagner would put about six car lengths between themselves and the third place battle between Simon and Hurron. The action was slowed with a lap six caution.

On the restart, Morrison once again jumped out to the lead followed closely by Wagner. The duo would run nose to tail over the next six circuits, until the action was slowed with a lap twelve caution for the X1 of Rob Lemaster. While under caution, second running Wagner rolled to a stop on the front stretch and had to be pushed pit side ending his night.

On the restart, Morrison jumped out to the lead over Weasel Rhoades, and Jeff Houser. Morrison began to pull away as Rhoades and Houser battled for second. Morrison held on over the final laps to pick up the feature win. Following Rhoades across the line were Weasel Rhoades, Jeff Houser, Steve Duderstadt, and EJ Hanneken rounding out the top five.

Weasel Rhoades and Dustin Webber brought the modified feature to the green. Rhoades jumped out to the early lead followed by Webber, Dave Jamison and Rob Lemaster. A lap two caution slowed the action when leader Rhoades experienced mechanical problems rolling to a stop in turn four. Rhoades was pushed pit side and the action resumed with Webber now at the point. On the restart. Webber jumped out to the lead over Dave Jamison who was in a battle for second with Rob Lemaster. A lap three caution waved when Doug Popp rolled to a stop on the front stretch.

On the restart, Webber jumped out to the lead over Jamison and Lemaster. The action was slowed for the final time on lap seven when the 7 of Josh Edmisten and the 47 of Mike Gross got together on the back stretch. One the restart, Webber jumped out to the lead over Dave Jamison, Timmy Proffitt, and Nick Hodges. Webber held on over the final laps to pick up his first feature win at Brushcreek. Following Webber across the line were Dave Jamison, Timmy Proffitt, Nick Hodges, and Josh Edmisten.

Dave Jamison and Troy Dotson brought the legend feature field to the green. Jamison jumped out to the early lead followed by Matt Nichols, Tom Partin, and John Gutman. Jamison lead the first six laps before fifth starting John Gutman found his way to the point. Gutman lead the next seven laps with Jamison following closely behind.

With the two to go signal from flag man Rick Cran, Jamsion tried to make the move to the low side of Gutman in one, but Gutman shut the door to maintain the top spot. Jamison followed Gutman down the back stretch. Coming out of four Jamison tried a move on the inside of Gutman. The duo came by the flag stand side beside with Gutman using the high side to get the momentum going into turn one, Gutman shout the door on Jamison in one giving Gutman the lead down the backstretch on the final lap. The duo came through turn four with Jamison on the inside. Neither diver was going to budge. Gutman tried to hold Jamison down on the bottom of the track the two touched coming out of four heading for the checkered flag. Gutman's car shot up toward the wall, while Jamison kept his pointed straight, crossing the line to pick up the feature win. Following Jamison across the line were Tony Steffen, Matt Nichols, Tom Partin, and Troy Dotson rounding out the top five.

Tommy Mossbarger and Shane Newman brought the feature field to the green. Mossbarger jumped out to the early lead over Aaron Chesser, Shane Newman, and Richard Trego. A lap two caution for Mike Brust slowed the action. On the restart, Mossbarger held a slight advantage over Chesser as the two front runners put some distance between them and the third place battle between Brandon Thompson and Shane Newman. Mossbarger and Chesser ran nose to tail until a lap eight caution waved for the 2 machine of Josh Francis.

Mossbarger and Chesser ran nose to tail on the restart. The lead duo once again began to put some distance between themselves and third running Brandon Thompson. Over the final laps Chesser would closed up to the rear deck lid of Mossbarger, but that was as close as he would get. Mossbarger held on to pick up the feature win. Following Mossbarger across the line were Aaron Chesser, Brandon Thompson, Shane Newman, and Richard Trego rounding out the top five.

Bill Taylor and Tyler Smith brought the crazy compact feature field to the green. Smith jumped out to the early lead followed by Taylor, Randy Johnson and Jim Chandler. Taylor pulled along side leader Smith on lap two. The duo would run side by side over the next three laps as Johnson and Chandler battled side by side for third right behind the lead battle. A lap five caution for Cole Demint slowed the action. On the restart, Taylor jumped out to the lead followed closely by Smith, Johnson and Chandler. Taylor held on over the final laps to pick up the feature win. Following Taylor across the line were Tyler Smith, Randy Johnson, Jim Chandler, Chris Patton rounding out the top five.

Brushcreek Motorsports Complex will take the next two weeks off. Action returns to the high banks of the 1/3 mile speed plant on Saturday September 12 for the Dan Reno Memorial/Bomber Nationals.
