WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Oct. 8, 2002) - After trying twice, but foiled both times by mother nature's dastardly H2O, the outdoor speedway running of a special, big dollar event has been rescheduled for this Saturday on the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia.

The special Campbell Promotions major event, carded as the “Summer's End” Outdoor Special”, will pay $500 in purse money for ten of the twelve classes; Junior 1 and 2 light and heavy, Stock light, medium heavy and super heavy, 2 cycles, and cage karts. The Rookie Beginner and Advanced classes will be paid with large trophy awards.

The event will take place at the southwest corner of the state fairgrounds in the Dodge Arena. As in the past, a special, banked-turn dirt oval will form the special speedway surface.

All rules will be as set by Campbell Promotions and under the banner of K.A.R.T. current speedway kart rules.

The $500 class purses will be set based on a minimum of ten karts for each qualifying division.

Gates will open this Saturday morning at 9 am. Hot laps will roll at noon and the first set of qualifying heats will start at 1 pm.

Entry fees for the paid classes will be $50 per class and Rookie class' entry fees are $30. Rookies will be running for big trophies, some over 3 feet tall, while the purse classes will also receive big trophies. Fourth and fifth place in the purse divisions will also be paid if there are the required 10+ entries.

General admission to the grandstands will be $5, pit entry will be $15.

A few of the Coliseum rules that will apply includes no 'cut' or tread tires/ slicks only and methanol-only fuels. The track will not be selling fuel.

If weather conditions spoil Saturday's event, the rain date is set for the next day, Sunday, same times and fees.

Now scheduled to start on Saturday night, November 9th, is yet another season of the “Coliseum Indoor Winter Speedway Kart Racing Series' The series will run every Saturday night inside the coliseum and will run through the final weekend of March in 2003.
