ELMA, Wash. -- The disappointment of the rain out on Tuesday June 12th won’t affect the spirits of the staff of the Grays Harbor Raceway too long. The 3/8 mile oval in Elma is excited to get back to racing this Saturday June 16th for Father’s Day weekend. Returning in action will be USAC Ford Focus Midgets, Hobby Stocks, Hornets, as well as the Northwest Wingless Tour.

The Northwest Wingless Tour has only paid one visit in 2012 and that is when J.J. Hickle put on a clinic to win his first career non-wing feature. Jared Peterson has two wins to his credit in three USAC Ford Focus Midgets action as Garrett Johnson is the only other feature winner this season.

Brian Harding earned his second feature win of the season last Saturday but Jason Tole has set the bar when he won four straight main events this season. Chad Norton still has the leading totals when it comes to main event victories in the Hornets this season but is joined by Jake Mills, Brian Norton, and Kyle Mast.

On Friday June 22nd the Wild Wild West Modified Shootout will return for what is scheduled to be the sixth round of seven for the 2012 edition and will feature Kenny Schrader racing alongside the USRA Modifieds. The event will be a treat to watch the stars from across the west coast take on the regulars at the Grays Harbor Raceway in USRA Modified competition.

The Grays Harbor Raceway is known for its high speeds and side by side racing as well as its large size. Hosting regular racing action from April to September with 360 Sprints, USRA Modifieds, USAC Midgets, Hobby Stocks, and Hornets as regular classes. In addition the venue will host the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and American Sprint Car Series-National Tour.
