ELMA, Wash. -- It’s that time of the year time for the Grays Harbor County Fair Race which is scheduled to take place this Saturday August 11th. Now the times are a little different than on a normal race night so front gates will open about 3:30 PM and opening ceremonies begins at 5:30. All spectators wishing to watch the races from the grandstands will get into the races for free with their purchase of fair admission. Classes that will take on the 3/8 mile oval are 360 Sprints, Hobby Stocks, and Hornets.

In six races there have been five different 360 Sprint feature winners with defending champion Henry Van Dam still leading in the win column with two victories. J.J. Hickle, Rick Fauver, Jay Cole, and Randy Van Aagten are other 2012 feature winners. A bit of a factoid is that multi-time champion Jay Cole’s car has victory lane this season, once with Cole himself and last week with Van Aagten.

The 2012 Hobby Stock season continues to be the Tole/Harding show as both drivers are the only winners this season. Jason Tole leads the class with five wins right now while last week Brian Harding earned his fourth triumph of the season.

The Hornets have been quite competitive this season as three drivers have recorded two wins this year. Chad Norton, Zack Floreck, and Jake Mills have won twice in 2012 while Brian Norton, Kyle Mast, and Will Wright are the drivers that have won once so far.

The Grays Harbor Raceway is known for its high speeds and side by side racing as well as its large size. Hosting regular racing action from April to September with 360 Sprints, USRA Modifieds, USAC Midgets, Hobby Stocks, and Hornets as regular classes. In addition the venue will host the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and American Sprint Car Series-National Tour.
