Grizzly Dyno Shocks Takes 1-2 in Australian Sprintcar All Stars Championship

The Grizzly Dyno Shocks and Grizzly Research & Development shod cars of Paul “Cyclone” Solomon and Colin Brooks took out a fantastic championship one-two in the season long Australian Sprintcar All Stars series which concluded last weekend in Mildura, Victoria.

The Sprintcar All Star Series has quickly established itself as Australia’s pre-eminent 360 cubic inch Sprintcar Championship spawned from the Rolling Thunder Raceway created Sprintcar Thunder Series.

Fought out over ten championship rounds, between them the Grizzly tuned cars won three features and landed on the podium an incredible twelve times.

Formula Motorsport team drivers Paul and Chris Solomon, chauffeured a pair of Grizzly fettled machines in the championship chase while Brooks drove for the Tony Bartlett team based a mere 800 Kilometres (500 Miles) west in Collinswood, Adelaide.

“The key to our championship success was Bill Roberts and his Grizzly products.” Said championship winner Paul Solomon. “The cars were always fast, it was just the driver being a bit too conservative at times that kept us from visiting victory lane a bit more frequently. The only time either of our team cars failed to finish was because of racing incidents, never through component failure.”

Brooks, who stunned many with his speed and skill considering he’d only ever raced a Sprintcar once before and never at any of the championship tracks, was equally effusive of the Grizzly products.

“I’m not sure of all the things that Bill has built on this car, but I know most of his pieces are different to everyone else and the car is always nice.” Brooks said. “I really want to thank Grizzly because despite not having the best motor in the field we were able to score a win and run consistent podiums due to the driveability of the car and the way we were able to carry more corner speed.”

“The inclusion of Tony Bartlett’s team into the Grizzly R&D fold stems back to the first year when Tony brought out Travis Rilat.” Explained Roberts. “He was willing to listen and to try things with the car and it was good to be able to continue that association with his new driver Colin. It was very pleasing to see the results they achieved considering the budget they run on and the fact that they have an eight hour longer drive than just about everyone else before they even start.

“It was also very pleasing to be able to take Paul to the championship win and his brother Chris to a top ten finish.” Roberts related. “In both cases, neither of the brothers have what you’d call a lot of Sprintcar racing experience so even Chris’s results, when put into that context, are very pleasing.”

Each of the Formula Motorsport cars and the Bartlett Racing machine run Grizzly Dyno Shocks and Grizzly R&D’s new trapezoid Jacobs Ladders.

Grizzly R&D in collaboration with Indianapolis based innovator Dan Drinan is also the designer and creator of the unique “Dri-bar” load equalization device as used on NASCAR Champion Tony Stewarts wingless Sprintcar driven by Levi Jones.

Grizzly are also the Australian agent for G Force safety and racing apparel, Kistler Motorsports and Shark Chassis.
