TULSA, Okla. -- Bud Kaeding won the USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series event at Tulsa Fairgrounds Motorplex September 14, 2003.

Kaeding took the $10,000 victory at Tulsa with the Zarounian entry prepped by BK Motorsports after starting third. Kaeding utilized WESMAR horsepower in a 1995 Stanton chassis to get the job done in the 77-lap affair. Loan City provided additional sponsorship of Kaeding’s entry.

"We gambled with softer tires at the start and I was worried about them in the later laps but we never got to where I had to abuse them,“ said Kaeding. “We were lucky when the red came out at lap 53 because I had broken a shock and we were able to fix that. It's been a while since I've run these cars on dirt and we were really confident, so I don't think things would have changed if we'd run the full 100."

The win was Kaeding’s first in the USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown division.
