Wangaratta Speedway
Wednesday, April 11, 2012 Go-Karts on Track at Wangaratta Speedway

WANGARATTA, Australia -- Speedway racing returns to Wangaratta on Saturday, April 14, with a full program of events.
After last month’s bumper meeting, which saw the Victorian Championship for Standard Saloons held over two big days, this month’s meeting returns to the regular Saturday night format.
The highlight of the meeting will be 46 competitors from the Yarra Valley Speedway Kart Club, who will make their first appearance at the Wangaratta track.
The karts will contest four heats on the night, followed by a final to decide the winner of the round.
The meeting will also see junior drivers contest round three of the Home Hardware / Goodyear Auto Care series. The best local speedway talent in the area will take to the track, proving yet again that there is plenty of depth in local racing.
Vic Sports Sedans and Goulbourn Ovens Sedans (GOS) will also race heats and a final on the night, adding to the action.
Gates open for spectators at 12pm this Saturday, with racing to start at 4pm and continuing until around 11pm.
Entry to the track on each day is $20 for adults, $15 for pensioners, with children under 16 admitted free if accompanied by an adult.
A full commentary, event program and catering facilities are offered, as well as access to the pits for those interested in taking a closer look at the competing cars, and for a chance to meet the drivers.
There will also be a jumping castle for the kids, and free lollies given out during the night, making it a great night of entertainment for all ages.
