Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway
Wednesday, September 30, 2009 It's Green Flags for The Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway's Winter Blast Racing Series
by Dave GraysonBLYTHE, Calif. -- The Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway's 2009-2010 Winter Blast Racing Series is green flag ready. Promoter Greg Scheidecker and his speedway staff has been extremely busy over the past few months dotting all of the "i's" and crossing all of the "t's" to insure that everything will be ready when the first race of the winter season rolls out onto the famed quarter mile paved oval located at the Colorado River Fairgrounds in Blythe-California on October 3rd.
From the October 3d season opening through the April 24th season finale, the Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway has scheduled 12 alternating Saturday nights of action featuring six regular season divisions and seven special guest regional touring racing classes.
The Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway's new schedule is loaded with the return of its traditional, fan favorite, racing divisions. That line up includes the street stock, factory stock, bandolero, late model, legend and modified divisions.
There's also going to be plenty of action from special guest racing series such as the SuperClean Modified Racing Series, the ASA Speed Truck Challenge Series, the Southwest Tour Trucks, the Pro Four Shootout Series, the USAC Ford Focus Midgets, the Stock Car USA Series and the Factory Four division.
Traditionally, Scheidecker and company likes to start a new Winter Blast season on a very strong note and once again they have arranged just that with their October 3d Denny's opening night. The opening evening will feature the Verve-ASA Speed Truck Challenge Series, the street stock and the factory stock divisions.
The ASA Speed Truck Challenge Series, a regional touring group for mid sized racing trucks, will be treating the Blythe area racing fans to a full 100 lap feature. There's also going to be some hot and heavy action from the speedway's street stock drivers because they will be racing for a $1,000 winner's pay check.
The $1,000 street stock race on opening night was actually based on some impromptu fund raising efforts by speedway announcer Bill Chesser during the Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway's annual awards banquet which was held on the evening of September 19th. The very personable Chesser decided that he wanted to do something special for the street stock teams as a way of saying thank you for the many highly entertaining evening they have provided the speedway's fans. Chesser worked his microphone magic and the result was enough money raised to create this special $1,000 to win event for opening night.
Once again the Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway will be featuring value pricing on their admission tickets that insures that their fans gets the most bang for their buck while attending their races. Adult tickets will be $10 this season and $8 for seniors, 55 plus, as well as the handicapped fans. Youth tickets prices will be $5 for teens 13 to 17, $3 for kids six to 12 while kids five and under will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult. The speedway will also be offering their famed Family Pack for $20 which admits two adults and two kids 17 and under. As always each race will be preceded by an on track autograph and photo session allowing the fans an opportunity to meet the drivers and get an up close at the race cars. There are also Friday night test and tune sessions, from 6 to 9 pm, which the fans can watch free of charge.
It's going to be a red hot Winter Blast Racing Series at the Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway for the 2009-2010 season. For complete speedway information you can dial up their website at www.i10speedway.com.
