WITTMANN, Ariz. -- The Arizona Modifed Midgets make their debute race at West Valley Speedway in Surprise, Arizona Saturday Night. West Valley is a brand new track to the Phoenix area. With this being their 1st season they prepared a nice track that held together all night..

For the drivers and fans it was some fast paced action. For Brendan “The Hitman” Higgins it was perfect. With the wave of the green flag at the start of heat 2 The Hitman quickly wrapped up the lead position. With More than a half a straight lead on the field Brendan brings home a flawless first place finish in the heat race. “The track was fast and my Pace Chassis handled like a dream. “The guys at Pro Dyno and my motor builder, Ultimate Imports ,helped us dial in our motor this week, and my crew set up a lightning fast car!”

With just a minor adjustment to the car for the main. The Hitman made quick work of the 2nd place position. Coming down the back stretch for the white flag, the lead car got trapped behind a lap car. “I saw the leader stuck behind a white car just out of turn 3, so I set my car to take them both high and take over the lead. As I lifted off the trottle to set the car, it hung wide open and I ended up hitting the leader!” After bring out the caution flag with only one lap to go the hitman still brought home a 10th place finish.

“you carry a lot of speed in the corners here at West Valley, after looking at the car, I think a rock took out the throttle cable coming down the back stretch,” said The hitman’s dad. “after that incident I’ll take 10th place and, nobody was hurt!” With tonights finish young Brendan still added some ground between him and the 3rd place car in the points series. “He drove the wheels off that car, it’s to bad lady luck took the night off, He’s a great kid to talk to before or after a race and a heck of a driver!” said a fan.

Brendan and his team take next week off and On March 31st they’ll make another appearance at USA Raceway in Tucson. On April14th Brendan will make his debute in a midget at Manzanita Raceway. Come on out and watch this up and coming star.
