Thursday, August 16, 2012 Tests Prove Motors Legal for Callihan, Hughes
by Dave MenefeeMANASSAS, Va, -- Test results were returned on Monday evening, and both motors were deemed legal after hours of dyno-testing. The motors of Davey Callihan, the current point leader in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Car division at the famed Old Dominion Speedway, and rookie ace Tyler Hughes were both tested and re-tested during the multi-hour long testing session in Madison Va. “With these results, we are now confident without a doubt that these guys are on a level playing field. All the rumors and finger-pointing can now stop,” one official said after the results were released. With these findings, Callihan retains his point lead in the division with just few events remaining in 2012.
The next event scheduled for the Late Models, along with the other divisions, is Saturday night, August 25th. The Old Dominion Speedway is dark on Saturday night, August 18th due to the Prince William County Fair.
