MILLVILLE, N.J. -- Spaces are still available for kart racers to enter the East Coast Endurance Championships, the open karting race at F1 New Jersey on Sunday, November 1. The 150-lap endurance race will feature four classes, opening the competition to a variety of karts and drivers.

The race, which will run on the 1.1-mile Tempest configuration at F1 New Jersey in the paddock of New Jersey Motorsports Park's Lightning Raceway, requires a minimum of two and a maximum of three drivers for each kart. Drivers will be required to change drivers at each pit stop that they make throughout the 150-lap race, with each driver required to run at least 40 laps.

The lone exception to this rule is the Iron Man class, in which one driver will contest all 150 laps.

Drivers must meet minimum weight requirements with their karts set in each class - Supercan, Briggs, TAG (which require different weights for 12 subclasses), and Open - all set to World Karting Association specifications.

Trophies will be awarded for the top three finishers in each class. Additionally, each class champion will receive a complimentary 2010 membership to F1 New Jersey. Membership includes discounts on practice days and club race entry fees, invitations to special event races, and other benefits limited to F1 New Jersey club members.

A Junior Class race will also be run for karters under 15 years old. The Juniors race will be an 80 lap race, run in five classes - Mini-Max, Cadet, Yamaha SPT, Yamaha Jr., and TAG Jr.

The Junior Class race will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, with the senior feature race immediately following. Open practice for race participants will be available on Saturday, October 31.

Entry fees for the East Coast Endurance Championship are $150 per team, with a $15 pit pass per person required.

Registrations will be accepted prior to Saturday's open practice and the morning of Sunday's race.
