Golden Triangle Raceway Park
Monday, July 23, 2012 More Hot Action as EMSA Mini Sprints Return to Golden Triangle Raceway Park
by Joy GrahamBEAUMONT, Texas -- Golden Triangle Raceway Park is back to “full steam ahead” as the EMSA Mini Sprints make an encore performance at the track this Friday, July 27. Always a crowd pleaser, these mighty-mites of dirt are always fast and furious. Powered by motorcycle motors with chassis that cannot exceed 70 inches in length, and a weight limit of 750 pounds (with driver), these miniature, wingless, clones of regular size sprint cars are a fan favorite due to their quickness and daring fetes on the track. Racing on the same program will be Limited Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Jr. Mini Stocks. A special fan participation event will be held during intermission...a Hula Hoop Contest. There is no age limit and participants may bring their own hoop or use one provided by the track. Lots of fun and prizes.
Last Friday, the Louisiana Bayou 305 Sprints made their track debut at GTRP. WOW! Were they great! They had three heats leading up to their feature. Top winner was Kent Lewis, Jr., who won the 3rd heat as well as the feature. David Burke, the feature runner up, also posted a heat win as did Nathan Hamburg. It was an all around good show and we hope to have them back before the season is over.
The following drivers made the top five list in the other GTRP features:
LIMITED MODIFIEDS: Tracy Denby Jr., Kamron Campbell, Brian Boram, Keith Lee Jr., Josh Ferguson
STREET STOCKS: Bret Howland, Ernest Haynes, Joe Rachel, Aaron Gore, Tiger Droddy
HOBBY STOCK: Randy Lovell, Tyler Harris, Mark Harris, Mason Ball, Britt Seaman
PURE STOCK: Jacob Wilburn, Scott Brown, Eddie Thibodeaux, Paul Vanderpool, Jay Butts
JR. MINI STOCK: Dillon Berry, Davey Langham, Dakota Hutto, Luke Nelson
STINGERS: Cody Smith, Allen Andrews
Golden Triangle Raceway Park is located on W. Hwy. 90 between Beaumont and China, TX. Pit gates open at 5 P.M. and the grandstand opens at 6 P.M. with racing underway at 8:00. For more information about the Friday night races go to www.gtrpbmt.com or call 409-752-7200
