ORLANDO, Fla. -- Despite the July 4th Holiday weekend and competition from a major concert/fireworks event in nearby Altamonte Springs, over 5,000 fans came out to witness the Summer Crash-A-Rama events Friday night at Orlando Speedworld. Drivers from E&H Car Crushing, which is located just a stone's throw from the race track, were pretty dominant on the evening as Jim "Crusher" Erb won yet again in the School Bus Figure 8 race leading most of the way. Kenny Baillargeon finished second followed by Moe Knauer. Two buses were flipped on their side during the race but neither Sean "The Crazy Cuban" Michaels nor Doug Gould was injured.

Erb also led from flag to flag in the 50 lap Enduro race and claimed a cool $1500 for the effort. Bomber Bill Loomis took second ahead of Bruce Gayton. Loomis came back to win the Flag Pole race over Erb. It was Loomis' third win in the past four Flag Pole events held during Crash-A-Rama driving his Tyler's Towing sponsored car.

Paul Wootten dominated the Skid Car race while Erb's teammate William "Huugy Bear" Hindman took the measure of the large field in the Boat-Trailer race towing his boat with a Cadillac hearse.

Erb, Hindman and Allen McClelland teamed to win the Stock Roller Derby while the Pro Roller Derby went to the "Grey Sharks" team of Eric Williams, Chip Laroche and Scott Luethje.

Regular FASCAR stock car racing action returns next Friday night featuring a 50 lap Brighthouse Challenge race for the Super Late Models plus a visit from the Daytona Antique Auto Racing Association.
