BRISTOL, Tenn. -- After more than a decade, Bigfoot, one of the biggest names in monster trucks, returns to Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 28 for the high-flying, car-crushing Thompson Metal Monster Truck Madness presented by Beef O’Brady’s Family Sports Restaurant.

Known around the world as the “original monster truck,” Bob Chandler’s Bigfoot first came to life in 1979. Since that time, Bigfoot has become synonymous with monster truck racing. Bigfoot has appeared in several movies, graced the screen in children’s television shows and shown up in miniature form on the shelves of toy stores across the globe.

For many of the region’s monster truck fans, Bigfoot’s appearance at the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile” will be their first opportunity to see the legendary machine in action.

Fans will be on the edge of their seats as they see Bigfoot prove its place as the number one monster truck in the business. Among the trucks set to challenge Bigfoot are Avenger, Brutus, Equalizer, Hot Tamale, War Wizard and Samson. Bristol Motor Speedway’s massive infield provides these machines plenty of space to fly, crush and destroy everything in their way.

To start the event, the trucks will race around the Bristol Motor Speedway infield during two qualifying rounds. Racing eliminations will begin after qualifying is complete. After the racing champion is crowned, the trucks return for everyone’s favorite event, freestyle. In freestyle, drivers will perform insane stunts and maneuvers which will push the 10,000 pound behemoths to the limit.

Freestyle motocross action and a jet car also will be featured during the event. The motocross riders will put on an impressive display of stunts, just like the athletes featured in the X Games.

All monster truck competitors will be available for autographs and pictures during the pre-event Beef O’Brady’s pit party located on the backstretch of BMS.

Fans of all ages will not want to miss the kings of carnage as they do what they do best- cause chaos!

Gates open and the pit party begins at 5:30 p.m., with racing slated for 7:30 p.m. The adult ticket price is $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the event. Advance ticket pricing ends Friday, July 27 at 5 p.m. Kids tickets are just $5 for children ages 10 and under.
