BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Bigfoot, War Wizard and a stellar field of machines invade Bristol Motor Speedway July 28 for the Thompson Metal Monster Truck Madness presented by Beef O’Brady’s Family Sports Restaurant.

In what is sure to be a hard-fought battle, Bristol-based War Wizard seeks to defend its home turf against the “Original Monster Truck,” Bigfoot, which makes its first Bristol appearance in more than a decade. For many of the region’s fans, this event will be their first opportunity to see the legendary Bigfoot in action.

To prove its place as the number one monster truck in the business, Bigfoot will have to defeat some of the strongest competitors in the monster truck world. Among the those set to challenge the big, blue Ford are Avenger, Brutus, Equalizer, Hot Tamale and Samson. Bristol Motor Speedway’s massive infield provides these machines plenty of space to fly, crush and destroy everything in their way.

To start the event, the trucks race around the Bristol Motor Speedway infield during two qualifying rounds. Racing eliminations begin after qualifying is complete. After the racing champion is crowned, the trucks return for everyone’s favorite event, freestyle. In freestyle, drivers perform insane stunts and maneuvers which push the 10,000 pound behemoths to the limit.

Freestyle motocross action and a jet car also will be featured during the event. The motocross riders will put on an impressive display of stunts, just like the athletes in the X Games.

All monster truck competitors will be available for autographs and pictures during the pre-event Beef O’Brady’s pit party located on the backstretch of BMS.

Fans of all ages will not want to miss the kings of carnage as they do what they do best- cause chaos!

Gates open and the pit party begins at 5:30 p.m., with racing slated for 7:30 p.m. The adult ticket price is $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the event. Advance ticket pricing ends Friday, July 27 at 5 p.m. Kids tickets are just $5 for children ages 10 and under.

Bigfoot and driver Larry Swim also make a pre-event appearance at the Beef O’ Brady’s restaurant in Elizabethton on Friday, July 27 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Fans can meet the three-time champion and 2009 Monster Truck Racing Association Driver of the year and pose for pictures with Bigfoot the day before they take to the track in Bristol.
