by Ben Shelton, McCool Motorsports

VICKSBURG, Miss. -- After recording a top ten finish last weekend at Duck River, Bub McCool will pilot his #57j McCool Logging/Trakstar/Barker Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle this weekend, September 25th-27th, in the 19th Annual Magnolia State 100 at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi.

Last weekend McCool Motorsports traveled to Duck River Speedway in Wheel, Tennessee for a $10,000 to win/$800 to start event that was sanctioned by the Southern Regional Racing Series. On Friday night, with 47 Super Late Models on hand, Bub raced his way to a second place finish in his heat race, which earned him a 6th starting position for Saturday night's 75 lap main event. Early in the event, Bub would work his way up to the fourth position, however as the race surpassed the half way mark, his car began to tighten up, and he had a hard time turning the car in the corners. He would fight the tight race car home to an 8th place finish.

This weekend, Bub will debut his 2008 Halloween Wrap on his Trakstar Super Late Model this weekend at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi in the 19th Annual Magnolia State 100. X-Treme Graphics By J-Rod has brewed up another phenomenal Halloween themed graphics package, and McCool will be displaying it through early November on his familiar #57j entry. To match the new car, McCool Motorsports also has brand new Halloween themed shirts that will be available starting this weekend.

Race fans will get the first chance to see the car and the new apparel in Thursday’s open practice session at Columbus Speedway. Things will start to heat up on Friday night with time trials and heat races on tap. Saturday night’s program will be highlighted by three consolation events, a last chance qualifier, and the 100 lap feature event, which boasts $20,008 to win and $1,000 just to start for the twenty-six car field. In addition, race fans please note that the brand new Bub McCool t-shirts are now available and come in a wide array of colors and sizes.
