CLOVER, S.C. -- Johnny Pursley has flirted with victory lane on a few occasions early in the 2012 season, but on Saturday night he sealed the deal by claiming his first feature win of the 2012 season with a $4,000 triumph in the Jack Starrette Memorial.

The BEAST Super Late Model tour hosted the second event of their debut season with the Jack Starrette Memorial on Saturday night at Gordon Park Speedway (Augusta, Georgia), and it was a great night for Johnny as he swept the $4,000-to-win program in the #b4 Wilson Motorsports/Mastersbilt to claim his first triumph of the 2012 campaign!

With 26 Super Late Models on hand, Pursley started the night by setting fast time honors, which earned him the pole for the 40 lap feature with a lap of 13.159 seconds. As the caution-plagued feature went green Johnny would jump to a lead that he would never relinquish as he went on to score the win over Ross Bailes, Casey Roberts, Brandon Overton, and Ty Dillon. "It's always great to win, but I'm really excited to be able to give Bobby and Johnny Wilson their first win of the season. They've really provided me with a great ride!" commented Pursley.

This weekend, May 4th-5th, Pursley is looking to enter a pair of events. On Friday night, Johnny is tentatively slated to pilot the #b4 Wilson Motorsports/Mastersbilt in a $10,000-to-win, World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model event at 311 Motor Speedway (Madison, North Carolina). On Saturday evening, Pursley will take the #09 Pursley Motorsports/Mastersbilt/Custom Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle in a $4,000-to-win, Carolina Clash race at Fayetteville Motor Speedway (Fayetteville, North Carolina).
