BENTON, Ill. -- One of the things that has earned the JEGS Summer Door Car Shootout a great reputation as a “Racer’s Race” is the multitude of “Door” Prizes presented to competitors who fall short of the money rounds. Four of the premier “Door” Prizes of the 2012 event come courtesy of the richest and most illustrious event in all of sportsman bracket racing: the C.A.R.S. Million. Four JEGS Summer Door Car Shootout competitors will be awarded weekend entries into the Triple 20’s events at the C.A.R.S. Million (October 18-21 at Montgomery Motorsports Park).

Throughout the 2012 JEGS Summer Door Car Shootout, “Door” Prizes will be distributed randomly to competitors who are defeated in rounds 2 and 3, both Saturday and Sunday (round money starts with fourth round losers). The C.A.R.S. Million joins a list of over 40 companies that will provide competitors at the JEGS SDCS with over $25,000 in prizes. These valuable prizes come in addition to the $30,000+ cash purse guaranteed by event promoters Luke Bogacki and Scott Bailey.

The C.A.R.S. Million is in its 17th season as the premier bracket race in the world. This year’s event will be held at Montgomery Motorsports Park October 18-21. The event will feature three $20,000-to-win events on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday surrounding the main event: the Million Dollar Race on Saturday. Triple 20’s entry is $500 for all three events (or $200 per day). Entry to the Million Dollar Race is $2,000. Door cars and dragsters will run separately for the opening five rounds in each event. The second annual JEGS Summer Door Car Shootout will take place July 21-22 at I-57 Dragstrip in Benton, IL. The door car-only event features a winner’s purse of $7500 each day, with payback to fourth round losers. Two-day weekend entry is just $275. In addition to the main events, the JEGS Summer Door Car Shootout also hosts a pair of 100%+ payback bonus events: the APD Quick 16 and the Ohlins King Of Illinois Shootout.
