Black Hills on tap for ASCS Rocky Mountain Region

TULSA, Okla. -- Racing action continues for the American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region this Friday night as the series makes the first of three scheduled stops at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, SD.

The ASCS Rocky Mountain kicked off the 2005 campaign this past Saturday night at Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, WY, with Edwards, CO, shoe Patrick Bourke taking victory honors.

Bourke leads the ASCS Rocky Mountain Region regulars into Friday’s event, with Rapid City native and former series champion Randi Miller expected as well. Miller has piled up 32 Rocky Mountain Region feature wins over the past four years.

Bourke leads the series points entering Friday’s event, with other top ASCS Rocky Mountain Region contenders including Jake Pierson (Bellvue, CO), Eric Miller (Thornton, CO), Gary Taylor (Wheat Ridge, CO) and Nick Haygood (Centennial, CO).

Pueblo, Colorado’s Paige Lee has returned to ASCS Rocky Mountain Region action, with others expected including Bob Schaeffer, Larry Lapoint, Jeff Heffner, Scott Milan, Joe Wagner and Josh Fellows.

Friday’s racing action atop the 3/8-mile semi-banked Black Hills Speedway dirt oval is slated to get under way at 7:30 p.m. Friday night. Black Hills Speedway is located in Rapid City, SD, three miles south of I-90 Exit 611, then one-half mile east on State Road 44. For more information, contact the track at 605-393-1552.

The 2005 ASCS Rocky Mountain Region slate consists of 19 events at ten different tracks throughout Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, South Dakota and Wyoming.
