MILLVILLE, Pa. -- Saturday evening at The Greenwood Valley Action Track was the traditional "Drivers Memorial Tribute" contest for Micro Sprint 270cc racers. The prize money this time was $500 to win and the format turned out to be Twin 20 Lap races with a 10 minute break in the middle. Ross Perchak, Hazelton, continued a very good season with a Feature win in this high paying event. Ross was the class of the field on every restart, putting car lengths between him and his second place rival, Sean Stolz, Bloomsburg, who was guaranteed a starting spot following his Feature win last week. In the third spot was Denny Rinehimer, Bloomsburg, fourth was Brian Kishbaugh, Nescopeck, and fifth was Hoss Uhrin, Freeland. Adam Romig managed a sixth place finish with Kevin Nolf, Chad Thomas, Skeetz Hockenbrock and Greg Spangler in the top ten.

Nathan Ritter, Selinsgrove, won his first ever Feature event in the Sportsman Micro Sprint 250cc event and he could not have had a better Memorial Day present. In the second and third spots were Jim Reese and Craig Fox, both of Bloomsburg. In the fourth place came Scott Correll, Shickshinny, fifth was Kirk Miller and finally across the line was Rick Rubenstein, Nescopeck.

For Caesar Bordo, Scranton, it was graduation day at The Action Track. Bordo won his fourth Rookie Micro Feature and that means that he is no longer welcome in the Rookie Division. It is track policy that after four Rookie wins in one season the driver must move on to either Sportsman or the 270cc Micro categories. Bordo has decided to bring his smooth style to the 270cc division, so drivers, look out. In the second spot was Kevin Heffelfinger, Danielslville, while Deb Arner, Berwick, managed third, Brian Brosius, fourth and Aaron Rinehimer was fifth. Jonathan Allegrucci, Whitney Heydenreich and Dave Fulton, rounded out the field.

The Greenwood Valley Action Track would like to thank Pastor Dave Rosenberger for a very moving Memorial Day tribute to the veterans at the race track while Jerry Creveling, track promoter flew his small aircraft overhead. Next Saturday night the gates open at 3, warm-ups at 4:30 and racing starting soon after. Bring the family for a great evening of racing at The Greenwood Valley Action Track located 3 1/2 miles east of Millville south of route 254. Turn right onto Oriole Road, right on Bottom Road and you are nearly there. See you at The Action Track.
