EAST SMETHPORT, Pa. -- It will be five weeks since the sounds of race cars graced the 3/8 mile oval located on the McKean County Fairgrounds in East Smethport, PA. The Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models will make their third visit of the season the McKean County Raceway on Saturday, June 20th for the annual Nancy Bly / Hazen Jordan Memorial that will pay $2000 to win.

So far twenty-nine different teams from two states and two Canadian provinces have entered ULMS events at McKean County Raceway. Gregg Satterlee won the season opening, Jim Duffy Memorial with a turn four, lap twenty eight pass on MCR standout and current Northern Tier Inc ULMS point leader, Bob Close. The 'Razor", Bob Close would come back to capture the May 9 Dave Lundgren Memorial. So far there has not been a repeat winner in the five ULMS events that have been completed this year. Fans can expect to see, Dave Hess Jr., Brent Rhebergen, Arcade - ULMS winner, Jason Dupont, Mike Blose, Jeff Hoffman, Ron Davies, Denton Boyer, Al Brewer, Ed Carley, Greg Oakes, Doug Ricotta, Luke Hoffner, Chris Farrell, Nick Loffredo, Bobby Stokes and others will be on hand.

Also on the card will be a complete program for the Maynard's Electric FASTRAK Late Models, Crosby Mini Mart Emods, Johnson Distributing Street Stocks, Wayne Companies Mini Stocks and Wellsville NAPA Pure Stocks. This event will mark the final tune up for the Maynard's Electric FASTRAK Late Model competitors prepare for their July 11 series regional event. So far, two different winners have graced victory lane in the FASTRAK division with Kyle Drum and Jim Frank finding the black and white checkers. Only six points separate Frank, Drum and third place point car and former champion, John Lacki.

The Crosby Mini Mart Emods have so far been the Randy Hall show. The perennial emod standout out of Olean, NY already has capture both Emod events at MCR this year. Hall holds a comfortable twenty-four point lead over Kyle Bedell of Little Valley. That is where the point race tightens up as Bedell holds second by one point over both Wilcox, Pennsylvania driver, Tim Peterson and Mt Jewett's, Mike Eschrich. John Woodward and Travis Asel trail Peterson and Eschrich by four points and just two points behind them are the duo of New York drivers, Vic Vena and Al Brewer who lately has become the hottest emod driver in the twin tiers with three wins and second in the past month at Arcade Raceway. Hall no doubt has set the standard for the competition but do not count out the above listed drivers or even a Brent Rhebergen in the Terry Suppa owned machine.

The Johnson Distributing Street Stocks have always been the most competitive class at MCR and this year is no different. Justin Baxter is the current point leader over former MCR champion, Andy Michaels. Michaels trail Baxter by five poins. Baxter is coming off his first career win back on May 9, while Michael is still looking for his first MCR win in two years. Rich Wojtowitcz,Jason Dobson, Rich Hemphill, Jeff Hellwig and Adam Ashcroft are all within striking distance of Baxter and Michael.

Like his Olean neighbor, Hall, Steve Mowery has capture both Wayne Companies Mini Stock events in his Neon RT. Hinsdale's, Nick Snayzak, sits second with Joe Boylan, Chris Parr and rookie Mike Miller in fifth in points.

Olean,'s Dennis Thomas won the last event for the Wellsville NAPA Pure Stocks and it put him on top of the point chart. Thomas has a slim three point lead over Fred Ely and is only seven points ahead of Curt Pastorious and defending champion Mark Schweikart. Donnie Williams and Brad Curran are within nine poins of Thomas as well. Lot of racing still and the points can change.

Racing begins at 7 PM with gates opening at 430PM on Saturday, June 20. Tickets prices are $11 for adults, $9 for Sr citizen (62 yrs or older), $6 for youths (ages 11-16). The family pass is $25 and fans are reminded to sign up for the Ultimate Race Fan Package for the 4th Annual MCR Fall Classic that will be held on September 25 and 26.
