MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- 15-year-old racer, Howard Moore is busily preparing to take his #23 Dynamic Electric/Stallard/Momo's Racing Engines Mini Sprint into action this weekend in the $10,000-to-win, 2nd Annual 66 Mike Phillips Memorial at Southern Illinois Raceway (Marion, Illinois).

This 2nd Annual 66 Mike Phillips Memorial will be held at Southern Illinois Raceway (Marion, Illinois) this Wednesday through Saturday, July 18th-21st. The $10,000-to-win event is expected to draw over one hundred of the nation's top Mini Sprint pilots to the facility. The weekend opens on Wednesday evening with an Open Practice Session before seeing preliminary events held on Thursday and Friday night. While Howard may have seen his opportunity to race last weekend in the #9J Jones Motorsports 305 Sprint Car nixed by Mother Nature, the weekend was definitely not a loss as he purchased a race-ready J&J 360 Winged Sprint Car with a Wesmar engine from Stinson Motorsports.

"It's always been my dream to pilot a 360 Winged Sprint Car, and the Stinson's made me an offer that I couldn't refuse on a really nice car. I'm really excited!" noted Howard.

Howard will practice the car on various occasions for the remainder of the 2012 season, but doesn't plan to actually debut it in racing conditions until next year.
