WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- In a season full of brand news tracks and competing with mostly new drivers and teams, Jerrod Foley continues to show that he’s a legitimate contender in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance. The Williamsburg, Kentucky driver showed he’s a threat once again in the series’ last event.

On Friday, July 20th at another track that Foley and crew would be visiting for the first time; The ¼ (0.250) mile high-banked paved oval of Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana for the Anderson 100 Presented by JEGS.com was the last event that the JLJ Motorsports team ventured too from their Southern Kentucky home base.

“We rolled into Anderson very excited to get on the track. It was another one that we had never been to or seen. Practice went smoothly for us as we caught on very fast and thanks to Dad (Car Owner & Crew Chief, Jim Foley) we had the right set up from the get go.” Stated the 20-year-old. “Never changed a thing in practice and was very happy with how the car drove with very old tires and it being our back up car.”

“We drew the number two to qualify which wasn't exactly what we wanted, normally we like watching a couple cars qualify just to give us a heads up.” The Blue Grass State driver continued. “We pulled off a seventh place starting position and we're very happy with that. After they rolled the dice for the invert and we found out we was starting outside pole, it made everything a little more suspenseful for the upcoming race.”

Foley would start on the outside of the front row for the race, his best starting position of the season. “We didn't know whether to run for the lead or save the tires for the end of the race. I decided that it would be a better option to save the tires and make a run at the end.” Foley continued. “When the green flag dropped we really got hung out to dry on the outside and had nowhere to go but backwards. At one point falling back to 10th knowing I had my work cut out to gain those positions back.”

He would recover from the sluggish start and worked his way back up to fourth but would fall back slightly again and would finish in seventh. “It was where we finished and initially qualified.” He laughed. “Overall it was a really good race, a lot of action and still yet a fairly clean race. A big Thanks goes out to all the sponsors and all the other competitors who drove a clean race and of course my crew!”

Now the JLJ Motorsports Team has a couple of days to prepare for the ninth race of 14 on the JEGS/CRA schedule, the Lucas Oil 100 Presented by JEGS.com at the 0.686 mile progressively banked paved oval of Lucas Oil Raceway, located West of Indianapolis in Clermont, Indiana as JEGS/CRA is part of the tracks 2012 Brickyard Speedfest.

“We have been looking forward to Lucas Oil Raceway for some time now and we’ve been preparing the primary car since Shady Bowl.” He excitedly remarked. “It's another track we have never seen or been to just like every race on the JEGS/CRA schedule. We believe we will be a top competitor at LOR and hope to finish with a solid top five.” Foley ended.

While running the entire schedule with JEGS/CRA, Foley and the team will also race in as many weekly shows as their schedule allows at their home track of Corbin Raceway Park in Corbin, Kentucky where in five appearances he has won Four Features and finished Second in the only A Main he didn’t win.

He also will be making appearances at near-by Rockcastle Speedway in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky where he won the Hank Aaron Cima Memorial back on June 2nd as well as Newport Speedway in Newport, Tennessee, and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tennessee.

After eight points races as well as the non-points race back on January 29th, the Rheem 150 Presented by JEGS.com which was part of SpeedFest 2012 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia, Foley has recorded two top five finishes including a season high of a third at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio, during the CoughlinCars.com 100 Presented by JEGS.com back on May 26th. He also has five top 10 showings and currently sits seventh in the points chase now only nine markers back of sixth.

For the remainder of the 2012 racing season, Foley’s #04 Port City Racecars Chevrolet Impala will be sporting sponsorship decals from Quality Care Auto as well as additional support coming from Manton Financial Services, Imprint Warehouse Screen Printing DAL Fishing Jigs, Advance Auto Parts, Baker Performance Parts, M.P.H. Promotions, Ace in the Hole Motorsports, and JLJ Motorsports,
