INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Checkered Flag Enterprises LLC would like to welcome race fans and race teams to join us for the kick off to the 2005 Blossom Chevrolet Indianapolis Speedrome schedule. This is the 65th season of racing action at the eastside speed palace.

We would like to announce the Carmel Sod Spring Fling. It will feature races for the Roadrunners and Hornets on March 6th, 13th, and 20th. The trading paint begins with pit gates opening at 11 am and racing beginning at 2pm sharp.

We would like to thank Billy George and the George family for their continued support of Speedrome racing and this series. Previous Carmel Sod Spring Fling Champions: Rodney Sizemore (2001 Outlaw Stock), Scott Cothron (2001 Roadrunner), Doug Greig (2002 Outlaw Stock), Jesse Cothron (2002 Roadrunner), Dustin Sapp (2004 Roadrunner), and Claude Hopper (2004 Hornet). The 2003 series was lost due to weather.

Also at the Speedrome, there will be open practice sessions during the next month. The dates for these are March 6th, 13th, 20th, 26th, and April 2nd. Practice is open to all the Friday and Saturday night racing divisions. This will be there first chance to get time in 2005 on the historic track.

Another important date to remember is March 26th. From 9am to 5 pm, mandatory registration and car number assignment will take place. Numbers are first come first serve, but you must have your car inspected to get your number.
