INDIANAPOLIS – The Bryant Heating and Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome is proud to have several of our racers taking time out of their busy schedules to show their Speedrome Pride at tomorrow’s UAW parade. Representing the track from the Dad’s Truck & Auto Late Model division will be point leader Jesse Tunny along with his brothers Austin and Ben as well as dad Bill Tunny Jr. The class’s 2011 rookie-of-the-year Eddie Rogers will also be on hand. From the Peters Auto Service Stock series, it will be Nigel Peters participating in the parade. They will have their cars cruising through the city streets for our loyal UAW supporters to see. There will be a photo slideshow of this event on http://www.speedrome.com/.

That driver trio will head a line of festivities in downtown Indianapolis beginning at 11am. The Speedrome stars will launch their parade journey from the corner of Pennsylvania and North Streets. This national UAW Labor Day weekend parade is presented by the United Auto Workers locals 23, 98, 226, 933, 1111, and UAW Region 3. UAW members along with friends and family have an outstanding longtime relationship with the Speedrome. They have had several race outings for their membership and are a primary sponsor for next weekend’s 35th Annual World Figure 8 Championship. “Our membership loves the Speedrome”, said Mr. Danny Ernstes Chairperson of the Greater Marion County UAW CAP Council. “We have attended the track for years and are proud to have them as a part of our parade”.

UAW is one of the largest and most diverse unions in North America, with members in virtually every sector of the economy. Those represented workplaces range from multinational corporations, small manufacturers and state and local governments to colleges and universities, hospitals and private non-profit organizations. They have more than 390,000 active members and more than 600,000 retired members. There are more than 750 local unions in the UAW. The UAW currently has 2,500 contracts with some 1,700 employers in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. A unique strength of the UAW is the solidarity between its active and retired members. Since its founding in 1935, the UAW has consistently developed innovative partnerships with employers and negotiated industry-leading wages and benefits for its members.
