MUSKOGEE, Okla. (August 16, 2002) - Mike Goodman of Tulsa driving Danny Smith's 5$ crossed the line first for his first Oil Capital Racing Series twenty-five lap feature Friday night at Muskogee Speedway Friday night but his celebration was short lived as when he got to the scales he was found light and disqualified giving Sean McClelland his fifth victory of the year.

McClelland led from his outside pole position until a lap eighteen restart after second place Jamie Passmore stopped on the backstretch with a steering problem. Passmore headed to the pits as did David James of Drumright, done for the night. On the restart Goodman blasted under McClelland as the duo headed off turn two and pulled away to a five-car length advantage. McClelland kept the pressure on Goodman and on lap 21 McClelland gave Goodman a light tap as they entered turn three. Goodman got the wake up call and crossed the line at the checker one and a half car lengths ahead. With Goodman's disqualification McClelland was awarded the win with Shelly Ward of Tulsa finishing a straightaway behind in second after coming from the rear after a pit stop for a loose ignition wire when he and Risley made contact early in the race. Rafe Essary of Stilwell was third, Leon Bacon of Broken Arrow making his OCRS debut came from eighteenth to fourth while David Seabolt of Sand Springs rounded out the top five. The race was plagued with two reds and four yellows. On lap four Kevin Risley, of Collinsville was a victim of some contact flipping in turn three. Risley was pushed off, headed to the pits and returned to competition with a slightly bent wing and hung on to seventh at the checker. Two laps later John Kent of Tulsa's night ended when he turned turtle in turn four. Brian McClelland who finished 6th was also disqualified with both he and Goodman losing all points and money for the night for being under the weight limit. Kenneth Walker was running second on a lap 16 restart after Ricky York's spin and made contact with leader Sean McClelland in turn two resulting in a bout with the backstretch wall which knocked him out of the race.

David Seabolt started on the pole and led flag to flag to win the twelve- lap B feature. Leon Bacon charged from the rear to pass Johnny Kent for second on the white flag lap. Kent held onto third and John Foreman of Muskogee took the final transfer spot.
