ATTICA, Ohio -- In an effort to help sprint car teams rein in the costs of competing every week, Attica Raceway Park will institute a Goodyear Spec right rear tire for the 2005 season for both the 410 sprint and 305 sprint divisions.

The tire is the same spec tire Fremont Speedway has incorporated the past few seasons and must carry the Fremont Speedway stampon the side. The tire is sold through Kear's Speed Shop in Tiffin.

"Fremont has had great success with the spec tire and its very affordable to the teams," said Jeff Potts, ARP Race Director. "With both tracks using the same tire, it should save both the 410 and 305 sprint teams a great deal of money over the course of the season. It should cut down on the number of wheels teams will need and a lot of work mounting and demounting tires each weekend. It will also level the playing field somewhat as every sprint car will carry the same right rear tire now."

"It's a pretty good tire and wears well. John Ivy has had great success with the tire, even competing and winning with it against the All Stars. Brian Smith used it much of the time last year as well and he won two track championships (both 305 titles at Fremont and Attica)," added Potts.
