CHILLICOTHE, Ohio -- K-C Raceway near Chillicothe, Ohio has announced 20 exciting race dates for the approaching 2005 season with the release of its 2005 Racing Schedule, which is highlighted by two "World of Outlaw" sprint car dates. A test and tune day will kick off the campaign on March 19 with the official season opener set two weeks later on April 2.

The original "Test-and-Tune" date of March 5 was pre-empted because of inclement weather that hampered speedway preparation. March 19 will now be the date that driver's anxiously look forward to in order to prep their cars for the 2005 points championship race at the speedway.

K-C Raceway owner/promoter Jimmy Nier of Piketon (OH) said, "The past two years we were anxious to get an early start on the racing season, but the weather has just been terrible. We have had to push back the starting date, but we are really excited about the upcoming season. Everything is pretty much ready to go; we are just waiting for things to dry out."

K-C will kick things off with a Full racing program of 410 Super Sprints, Late Models, Modifieds, and Hobby Stocks on April 2. On April 9, K-C will host a $3,000 to win Late Model Special with Modifieds and Hobby Stocks serving as the support classes.

Sat. March 19, 2005, the "Test-and-Tune" day, gates will open at 11:00AM. The event will continue until every racer has had an adequate opportunity to fine tune his car. The cost of the car with driver is $35.00. All other pit passes for "Test-and-Tune" day are $15.00, while general admission and grandstand area admittance is free to the public.

ALL Cars, any class, large or small may take part in the test and tune session March 19, 2005. The class does not have to run at K-C on a regular basis to be eligible to participate. All drivers and fans are welcome!

The cornerstone for the 2005 season is the May 14 "The Ohio Challenge" which pits the "World of Outlaws" against "The All-Star Circuit of Champions" Sprints.

Jim Nier's K-C Raceway is located 12 miles south of Chillicothe OH on US Route 23 to Alma, OH, the west two miles on Blain Highway. For more information on the track please visit their website at <> or call 740-663-4111 .
