LAKE PLEASANT, Ariz. -- Super stock track point leader Lonnie Foss won both the heat race and feature Saturday night at Canyon Raceway to extend his point lead to 42 points over Hillbilly Campbell. Campbell ran fourth in the feature action behind veteran Doug Porter and Dave Dulceak. Lonnie Horgen was the pure stock feature winner, but gained little ground on point leader Marlowe Wrightsman as Wrightsman raced to a second place finish. Wrightsman's point lead is 50 tallies in this most active class. T J Warner was third in the feature. Adam Milsap charged to wins in both his heat and the feature for the mini sprint 600s. Brandon Shelton and newcomer Jeremy Reagles were 2nd and 3rd. The modified midget 250s raced with them and Brandon Young got an impressive sixth place overall to pace that class. With an 8th Jake Grimes ranked second in the 250s. The desert dwarf cars were in action with an 18 car field and heat winner Randy Anderson gained the main event triumph over Jerry Hartnett and Aaron Jones. The year long battle in the lady stocks continued as Lisa Smeltzer wheeled her super stock to the win ahead of Brenda Wrightsman's pure stock. Smeltzer is only 7 points ahead of Wrightsman. Third ranked Sharon Soboski finished third.

There were 8 super stocks and Tim Worth ran second ahead of Dulceak in the heat behind Foss. In the main event, Foss beat Porter, Dulceak, Campbell, Stephen Lumpkin and Glenn Strumm. There were 17 pure stocks but Quest Heights broke in hot laps. Russ Amsler joined him as a feature scratch. Young Cody Center won heat 1 over Horgen and Michael Humphreys. Steven Shumaker outraced Frank Waszkiewicz in heat 2 and Chuck Kuehl edged out Scott Reese in heat 3. Horgen was the feature winner over Wrightsman, T J Warner, Humphreys, Center, Aaron Rider, Erv Granlund, Reese, Timmy Worth and Craig Carrajat. Center is solidily in third in points.

There were 19 mini sprint 600s and five modified midget 250s. Kyle Norman won the first heat for the 600s ahead of Kylie Fellars and Shelton. Jacob Hawkins captured heat 2 ahead of Dallas Caldwell and Dennis Carrier. Caldwell was a feature scratch. Adam Milsap finished in front of Steven Sanchez and Reagles in heat 3. The lone 250 heat was won by Grimes ahead of Taylor Glantz. Milsap was the main event winner in front of Shelton, Reagles, Ashley Robella, Fellars and 250 winner Young. Carrier ran 7th and the second 250 Grimes was 8th. Nick Aiuto and back of the pack starter Austin Quick rounded out the top ten. Glantz and Aaron Edmonds took the next two 250 slots in third and fourth.

The desert dwarfs were divided into three heat races. Anderson won heat 1 over Rick Kochanowski and Chris Snyder. Hartnett captured heat 2 ahead of Denny Dowty and John Stafford. Tony Martin beat Sandy Matthews and Jones in heat 3. All 18 cars started their main event and Anderson was the feature winner over Hartnett, Jones, Donnie Rooks, Kevin Stalbaum, Larry Wutzke, Snyder and Matthews.

The 8 lady stocks saw Smeltzer the winner ahead of B Wrightsman, Soboski, Alex Stafford, Jennifer Wrightsman and Tracy Carter Warner.

On Sept 24, the Barnett Harley Davidson dirt modifieds run their final point race of 2005 and they are joined by the return of the mini sprint 600s, modified midget 250s and desert dwarf cars.
