Over 150 racers packed Big River Sand Drags for the Second Annual Missouri Open Invitational over the Memorial Day weekend, and on the second day of the event (Sunday, May 28) John Conner of Oak Grove, Mo. established a new ATV track record of 3.578 seconds over the 300-foot sand track at 89.71 mph.

The tower that controls all basic operations at Big River Sand Drags was totally destroyed during the storm that hit the Bonne Terre area Sunday. Nobody was injured in the incident, however the building was totally destroyed.
