by Robin ErvinWALL TOWNSHIP., N.J. -- Tom Ervin won the Modified Outlaw Microstock feature Sunday at Wall Stadium. Ervin started on the pole due to a dramatic fifth place to first win in his heat race.
At the start John Kazmierski moved into second place close on Ervin’s bumper. Harry Burd spun while trying challenging Kazmierski for second bringing out the first caution. This moved Jason Burd into third position. On the restart H.Burd started his slow climb back to the front. H. Burd caught J. Burd and after a fierce two lap battle he passed him to take third spot.
A caution on lap seven for debris on the track bunched the field again. On the restart J. Burd passes H.Burd for third followed by Rookie Chris Gall who made a dramatic inside move to also pass H.Burd. On the backstretch H Burd retook third. Two laps later Gall passed J Burd for fourth. On the next lap H Burd moved past Kazmierski to take second. Gall slid high coming out of turn four allowing J.Burd retake fourth. Ervin went on to take his fourth win for the season followed by Harry Burd, John Kazmierski, Jason Burd, Chris Gall and Andrew Shuster.
M.O.M. races again on July 29 at Wall Stadium. There is no club fee to race with M.O.M., and all Modified Micro Stock drivers are welcome to compete.
