FindItHere.com Late Model 200 Set for July 3 at SoBo

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. -- One of the premier events of each and every season at South Boston Speedway is scheduled for Tuesday, July 3.

On Tuesday night, July 3, America?s Hometown Track will jumpstart the Fourth of July holiday with the FindItHere.com NASCAR Late Model 200.

The first race of the evening will get the green flag at 7 p.m. And, at the close of the night, the skies over South Boston Speedway will be filled with fireworks as South Boston Speedway will once again host its annual Fireworks Extravaganza.

Three big money races are scheduled as part of the FindItHere.com Late Model 200. The featured attraction of the evening will be a 200-lap battle for the competitors in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division. That race will have a purse of $5,000 for first place and will feature the region?s best Late Model Stock Car competitors.

Also scheduled as part of the special evening of racing will be a 100-lap race for the drivers in the Limited Sportsman Division and a 50-lap shootout for the competitors in the Budweiser Pure Stock Division.

Prior to the evening of racing, fans will be able to head trackside and visit with their favorite drivers during a special Fan Appreciation Session.

Advance tickets for the FindItHere.com Late Model 200 are currently on sale at the speedway office and are priced at only $15 until 5 p.m. Monday, July 2. The adult admission price on Tuesday, July 3 will be $20.

One-time winner Matthew Bowling will head into the July 3 event sitting atop the standings in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.

Bowling is 17 points ahead of second-place Peyton Sellers, a two-time winner this season. Lee Pulliam, a four-time winner in 2012 at South Boston Speedway is third in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division standings.

Bobby McCarty has surged back to the top of the standings in the Limited Sportsman Division. McCarty is only four points ahead of Danny Willis, Jr. in the chase for the division crown.

In the Budweiser Pure Stock Division ranks, Trey Crews is the leader in the chase for the title by a mere four points over Joe Allred, III, while Randy Hupp is third and is only 14 points ahead of fourth-place Stuart Crews.

Pit registration will begin at 11 a.m. on July 3. Practice for all divisions will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. and qualifying time trials will get underway at 4 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 3:30 p.m.
