Tuesday, February 9, 2010 Nuckles Family 34th Auto Racing Promoters of the Year

LAKE MARY, Fla. -- In the Grand Ballroom at the Hilton Daytona Beach, February 8, the Nuckles family, promoters of Columbus (OH) Motor Speedway became the Thirty-Fourth Auto Racing Promoters of the Year by Racing Promotion Monthly, the idea newsletter for auto racing promoters. The Nuckles received the industry's most prestigious award on their eighth nomination. The ceremony was part of the Speedweek National Workshops, the concluding event of the Thirty-Seventh Annual RPM Promoters Workshops Series, forums and trade shows for promoters, which will conclude Wednesday, February 10, at the hotel. The Auto Racing Promoter of the Year is selected annually in balloting by promoters nationwide.
Honored as Regional Auto Racing Promoters of the Year were Red MacDonald and Bob Watson, Lee USA (NH) Speedway; Andrew Harpell, Five-Mile Point (NY) Speedway; Al Varnadore and Todd Hutto, East Bay (FL) Raceway Park; Orville Chenoweth, Dakota State Fair (SD) Speedway; C-Ray Hall, 81 (KS) Speedway; Rodney Wing, Whynot (MS) Speedway; and Steve Beitler, Skagit (WA) Speedway.
National Speed Sport News, presented the twentieth annual National Speed Sport News Award for outstanding annual short track event to the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup, Skagit Speedway.
The Speedweek Workshop is the second event of the Thirty-Seventh Annual RPM Promoters Workshops Series and the 99th produced by RPM during its 37-year run.
