Saturday, July 25, 2009 UFo Date for Tyler County Changed to August 2

MIDDLEBOURNE, W.Va. -- The UFo Race Championship event originally scheduled for Saturday, July 25 at Tyler County Speedway has been relocated to Sunday, Night, August 2. The "Earl Hill Championship" will now become Tyler County's 2008 UFo event and will pay $3,000 to the winner. This will now create a two race weekend for the UFo Super Late Models, as they will compete at the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex on Saturday, August 1. This Saturday, July 25, Tyler County will present the BRP Big Block Modifieds plus the Hillbilly Qualifier for the Super Late Models. The UFo Late Models will invade the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex on Saturday Night, August 1 for the rescheduled "Mega-Blitz 2009." The Mach 41-lap feature event will pay $3,000 to the winner and $250 to start. The "Mega Blitz" was the Challenger Raceway's traditional summer event, and has been relocated to Roaring Knob this season after the closure of Challenger. Former event winners include Davey Johnson, Keith Barbara, Robbie Blair and Billy Drake. Jeremy Miller from Gettysburg, PA was the winner of the initial UFo event at Roaring Knob in 2008. The FASTRAK Late Models, E-mods, Street Stocks and Chargers will complete the racing program. Roaring Knob has had strong Super Late Model car counts in 2009 for their regular events, and a great field or drivers is expected for the "Mega-Blitz." This event will also be the 3rd of the 3 race "King of the Knob" qualifier races, which will determine the track provisional for the UFo "King of the Knob" in September. Pit Gates will open at 4:30, grandstands at 5:00, warm-ups at 6:15 and racing at 7:00 PM. Grandstand admission is $15, with children 10 & under free. Pit admission is $25. Payout for the UFo Super Late Models for the 41-lap "Mega-Blitz 2009" is 1st - $3,000 2nd -$1,400 3rd -$1,000 4th -$750 5th -$600 6th -$550 7th -$500 8th -$450 9th -$425 10th -$400 11th -$375 12th -$350 13th -$325 14th -$300 15th -$290 16th -$275 17th -$250 18th -$250 19th -$250 20th -$250 21st -$250 22nd -$250 23rd -$250 24th -$250. $100 tow money for any car that races and does not qualify for the feature. "Mega-Blitz" will have no Super Late Model car entry fee. The following night, the UFo Super Late Models will make the short trip to Tyler County Speedway for the "Earl Hill Championship." The Mach 41-lap feature will pay also pay $3,000 to the winner. BDS promotions has added bonus money to the payoff to pay $300 to start. Last year's UFo event at Tyler County was won by Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes WV over a 51-car field. Tyler County Speedway if famous for generating some of the closest, most exciting racing in the nation. The wide, high-banked quarter mile constantly provides 3 and even 4 wide racing and photo finishes. This event pays tribute to Earl Hill, a WV racing legend and many time track champion at Tyler County. The "Earl Hill Championship" will also feature racing for FASTRAK Late Models, E-mods, Hot Mods, Pure Stocks, Junkyard Warriors, Mod Lites and Mini-Wedges. Tyler County Speedway has made it priority in 2009 to run the Super Late Model feature at a reasonable time. On Friday Night, August 7, the UFo Super Late Models will make their first appearance at the Lernerville Speedway for the $2,000 to win, "Lunarville 33." This event will be Fan Appreciate Night as it will feature regular admission price and will include the Outlaw Sprints, Big Block Modifieds and Sportsman. On Saturday Night, August 8, the UFo Super Late Models will return to West Virginia to the Elkins Speedway for the massive "RH Amrstrong Classic." The winner of the Area 51-lap feature will take home $6,000 of the $32,000 plus UFo Super Late Model payoff. This event also will feature a low ticket price of $15 for the grandstands. The UFo Super Late Models will finish their August run with the "F-2 Shockwave" at Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway on Saturday, August 15. This event will feature fan-favorite twin 31-lap features with a total of $5,000 to win. This will be a triple sanctioned event including the United Late Model Series as well as awarding UMP DIRTcar points.
