BUTLER, Mo. -- With night two of the Memorial Day weekend Midwest Sprint Car Association (MSCA) events is in the books. A driver taking his first MSCA win also climbed to the top spot in points. Lee’s Summit’s Brandon Gray took no time to take the lead from his outside front row starting spot in the 20 lap A feature Saturday night. Gray took the lead from pole sitter Michael Brown of Kingsville on the exit of turn two of the first lap and never looked back . Gray led the way for the entire caution free distance.

Brown and the Holt’s Summit “Hot Shoe” J Kinder followed Gray in hot pursuit. Kinder passed Brown up on the high side of the banked turn one on lap four and began unsuccessfully to reel in Gray. Joe Boyles, of Greenwood, MO a veteran midget ace pulling double duty (behind the wheel in Jerry Potter’s big red 1 and his own USAC/SMRS Great Plains midget) engaged in battle with Brown for the third spot. Brown settled in for a fourth place finish. Brian Beebe out of Oak Grove, MO a rookie driver making only his second start in a 305 sprint car brought his mount in a respectful fifth place finish. Beebe is no stranger to open wheel race cars. He is a former track champion in the 600 CC micro sprints.

The MSCA sprint cars are back in action this Friday night, May 29th at Valley Speedway, in Grain Valley, MO. Along with the MSCA sprint cars will be the Racing Experience Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprints (MOLS) and the Show Me Vintage Racing (SMVR) vintage cars. Valley Speedway’s Friday night program featuring all open wheel race cars will open the pit gates for competitors at 5:00PM. Spectator gates open at 6:00PM. There is a drivers meeting in the pit area (Restricted access, by pit pass only) at 7:00PM. Hot laps which allow drivers to warm the engines and test their cars for the evening’s events start at 7:30 with racing to follow.

Adult admission is $10.00, Children 6-12 $5.00, Children 5 and under is admitted free.
