BANKS, Ore. -- For the past two scheduled events the weather has not cooperated with the Northwest Wingless Tour. That is looking to change this coming Saturday July 14th when the touring group ventures to the Sunset Speedway Park for their fifth race of the season and the fourth to take place at the Banks bullring.

In four races there have been four different winners at the two tracks the series has visited. J.J. Hickle won the first race of the year at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington back in May and since then Bill Winsley, Ryan Bothwell, and Theo McCarty have all captured victories at SSP as well. Gary Davis remains the most victorious driver at Sunset Speedway Park since the NWWT’s first visit in 2010 with three wins. Tony Thomas, Mark Nichols, and the aforementioned Winsley, Bothwell, and McCarty have also won at the facility.

The Sunset Speedway Park is located just west of the Portland metro area in Banks on the Sunset Highway. The venue is located in a gorgeous small town setting with rolling hills in the background and hosts weekly competition with Northwest Extreme Sprint Car Series, Northwest Wingless Tour, USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Bees, Pure Stocks, Womens, and Tracers classes. The Northwest Wingless Tour has been providing fans of Non-Wing Sprint Cars entertainment to tracks through the Pacific Northwest since 2009.
