RINGGOLD, Ga. -- The PPM Racing Products Southern Regional Racing series makes it highly anticipated return to Boyd's Speedway, with Friday's "Mayhem 50" Super Late Model extrodinare. Racers from Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and possibly as far as Mississippi and Kentucky could be expected to enter this event. Boyd's Speedway has had recent success with recent SLM events such as the GEORGIA MEMORIAL RACE and most recently the SHRINERS RACE back in June. This $3,000. to-WIN event originally slated back in May, but rains forced it's postponement. The last time the S.R.R.S. sanction took to the track close to fifty (50) participants entered the 2008 October event, which was by-far BOYD's largest car-count for one class of competition.

East Tennessee racers Billy Ogle Jr., Tommy Kerr, Anthony White Ray Cook and Randy Weaver have all had recent success in 2009 at BOYD's. Ogle holds the new track record from qualifying time trials, which stands at 13:320. Coming into this Friday (Aug. 7th) nights event Jay Brinkley of middle Tennessee holds a commanding 200+ points lead in the 2009 series points chase. After group time trials, locks in a specific number of qualifiers, Last Chance / Consi's races (and series provisionals) will make up the remaining 24-car starting field. On the undercard with the S.R.R.S. SLM's will be the A & B-Hobby's, the Pony's and the FWD divisions from BOYD's. Gates Open at 4PM with Hot Laps and racing starting around 7PM.
